About Me.
I was born in Kilkenny, Ireland and studied Fashion Design at The Grafton Academy in Dublin and subsequently worked in costume design for RTE, the national television station in Ireland, for over 16 years.
In 2011 I left my career in costume to traveling and for a life as a textile artist. Sence then I have had the very good fortune to visit and live in a number of different countries. I lived in Australia for a number of years where I drew inspiration for my work from the rich and vibrant natural surroundings where I lived. In March 2018 I returned to Europe and am currently living in Switzerland which I love and once again the local landscape is my main inspiration. A lover of all things textile, I spend much of my time creating new pieces and exploring and developing new, different techniques including silk painting and machine and hand embroidery and often incorporates a technique using ‘wash-away’ material as a base to create a lace like effect.
